It will be studied and developed a new process for Aluminium electrodeposition on high fashion accessories using DES (Deep Eutectic Solvents – second generation ionic liquids) and their subsequent coloration through anodization. Currently, Aluminium deposition is only possible from the first generation ionic liquids, but their use in the high fashion industry is extremely complex and economically disadvantageous because of the raw material cost and the need to operate in a controlled atmosphere (no humidity).
DES are non-toxic substances easily obtainable from renewable resources, insensitive to humidity and available at a reasonable price. Prototypes will be realized to run experimental tests aimed at developing galvanic baths using DES and then colouring the Aluminium deposit on the fashion accessories. Because the prototypes will be developed in accordance with Industry 4.0 principles, they will be highly automated and controlled remotely, increasing their reliability through predictive maintenance and fault analysis.
